Habit

Habit Stacking, Hook a New Habit to An Old One

Don't try to build a new habit out of thin air, stack it onto an existing, automatic daily routine. For example: "While I brush my teeth for two minutes, I will do calf raises and gentle calf stretches."
Habit

The Afternoon Stretch

When the 3:00 PM slump hits, do 3 simple stretches: roll your shoulders, stretch your neck from side to side, and twist your torso in your chair. It releases tension built up from hours of typing.
Habit

Keep Water Within Arms Reach

Fill a large water bottle at the start of your day and keep it near you. If it's visible and easy to reach, you are drastically more likely to drink it throughout the day.
Habit

The Three Good Things Check-in

Before dinner or during an evening wind-down, write down three specific things that went well today. They don't have to be major milestones, a good cup of coffee or a quick laugh with a colleague counts.
Habit

A Daily Brain Dump

If your mind is racing before bed or during a stressful project, grab a piece of paper and write down everything you're thinking about, worrying about, or need to do. Getting it out of your head and onto paper reduces anxiety instantly.
Habit

The Stand-Up Cue

Stand up every time you take a phone call or attend a listen-only meeting. Changing your posture boosts blood flow and prevents the physical stiffness that comes with prolonged sitting.
Habit

The 20-20-20 Eye Break

To prevent digital eye strain, every 20 minutes look at something at least 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. It gives your eye muscles a much-needed break from the screen.
Habit

Hydrate Before You Caffeine-ate

Drink a full glass of water before your morning coffee or tea. Your body dehydrates overnight, and starting with water fires up your metabolism and clears morning brain fog.
Habit

Catch Some Early Light

Step outside or sit by a bright window for 5-10 minutes within an hour of waking up. Natural morning light resets your circadian rhythm, boosting daytime energy and improving sleep quality at night.
Habit

The First 15 Screen Free Zone

Avoid checking emails, Slack, or social media for the first 15 minutes after waking up. Use this time to stretch, drink water, or just sit quietly. This prevents your brain from immediately entering a reactive, high-stress state.
Habit

Phone replacement

Place your phone charger (and your phone) in your bathroom or kitchen, don't take your phone to bed. This encourages some separation from your phone and the harmful blue light / ongoing stimulation. Have a kindle or a book next to the bed instead.
Activity

BlueFit Gym Membership Benefits
